Who Can Sign Up?

Ages 14–19 (U.S. only)

Under 18? You must register with a parent or guardian — either online or in-club. Once they sign the digital waiver, you can work out alone. No parent needs to hover on the treadmill next to you.

18 or 19? You can register solo.

What to bring: A valid photo ID (school ID or government-issued) and your ZIP code to find your home club.

Register online or in-club — have your parent or guardian sign the digital waiver if you’re under 18.

Step 1: Pre-Register Online at PlanetFitness.com/SummerPass

Go to planetfitness.com/summerpass and click “Pre-Register” or “Sign Up Now.” Registration opened in mid-May 2026.

Pro tip: Use a personal email address (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.), not your school .edu address. Some school email servers block outside messages, and you need that confirmation email.

Step 2: Enter Your ZIP Code and Pick Your Club

Type your ZIP code or city. The site shows all nearby Planet Fitness locations.

Critical: You can only work out at the one location you select during sign-up. You cannot switch clubs later or visit other locations on the same pass. Pick the club you’ll realistically go to most – the one near home, work, or your summer job.

Step 3: Create Your Account

Enter your first name, last name, email, date of birth, and create a password. You can also sign in with Google or Apple.

Step 4: Parent/Guardian Consent (If Under 18)

If you’re under 18, the system sends a digital waiver to your parent or guardian’s email. They must complete it before your pass activates. The waiver covers gym rules, emergency contact info, and liability release. Once it’s signed, you’re cleared to work out solo.

Step 5: Download the Planet Fitness App

The PF App is free and works even before June 1. Use the same email you registered with. You can explore teen workout plans, watch exercise tutorials, and scan QR codes on machines for form guidance. On June 1, your digital key tag appears in the app – that’s your gym check-in.

Step 6: Check In and Start Moving (June 1)

Your pass is live June 1, 2026. You cannot use the gym before then, even if you registered early. Walk in, show your digital key tag at the front desk, and hit the floor.

In-Person Registration: Open Houses

Many clubs host open houses in late May and early June where teens can register on-site, tour the gym, and meet the staff. Parents can explore membership offers for themselves too. Check with your local club’s front desk for dates, or look for open house announcements on planetfitness.com/summerpass.

Bring a school ID or government-issued photo ID. Under-18s must bring a parent or guardian.

First-Visit Tips: Gym Etiquette for Teens

  • Check in at the front desk with your app every time.
  • Wear closed-toe athletic shoes – no sandals, no exceptions.
  • Use headphones if you’re listening to music or watching videos.
  • Wipe down equipment with sanitizer before and after use.
  • Groups of 3 or more aren’t allowed on the gym floor.
  • Bring a water bottle and a lock if you plan to use a locker.
